Moms Visits in August

Mom decided to come up the week before the kids started school.  We headed to Philadelphia to see Independence Hall.  Here, they pose with George Washington in period dress.

This was a funny picture of us in front of the Liberty Bell.  It's funny because you can see Mom taking a picture of the Liberty Bell in the background.  It actually looks like she's riding in Ezra's hat.

Here's all of us in front of the Liberty Bell, with that same guy blocking it!

The kids and I had a picnic while Mom when on a guided tour of Independence Hall. This XOXO affords many posing opportunities.

 Still killing time...

We drove 2 hours south back home to pick up Mike and then drove 3 hours more south to Williamsburg, VA.

We had to introduce Nana to our favorite coffeehouse.  Ezra enjoyed playing chess with a new friend and Jonas and Judith were involved with a math demonstration with playing cards.

We enjoyed the morning together and then Mike took the kids to check in at Great Wolf Lodge while Mom and I had a lovely lunch and continued to explore Colonial Williamsburg.

After a full day of Colonial Williamsburg, we just enjoyed Great Wolf Lodge on Sunday and then headed back home so Jonas could start school the next morning!

With Jonas in school on Monday but Ezra and Judith not starting for a couple more days, we took Nana to DC to see the Jefferson Memorial.

We walked around the Tidal Basin to the FDR Memorial too.

On Wednesday, we had a day to ourselves and visited the Babe Ruth Birthplace and Museum in Baltimore and had lunch at Mission BBQ.
