Great Wolf Lodge in Williamsburg, VA

Every time we passed Splashtown in Spring, Ezra asked when we could go to a water park.  Not wanting to spend a ton of money at Schiltterbahn or Splashtown where they probably would not be tall enough for most of the rides, I told him "maybe next summer..."

We are connected with an local autism parents group and they had a special group rate at Great Wolfe Lodge in Williamsburg, Virginia.  It's an indoor waterpark.  The night that the "deal" was for was Ezra's 7th birthday!  I knew that this would be THE BEST gift for him.

Sure enough, it was perfect for our young kiddos.  It was smaller and with one entrance/exit we didn't have to worry too much about losing Ezra.  The water was shallow almost everywhere--even Judith could touch the bottom in the lazy river.  Ezra could go on EVERY ride with an adult, Jonas could do all but one ride and Judith all but two.  Even the lines weren't too long.

Jonas and Ezra surfed down the wall of water.  They actually did surprisingly well.

Judith enjoyed the calm water before the wolf howl unleashed the waves!

Jonas getting ready to ride the waves in the pool.

The big bucket behind them dumped every 10 minutes or so and sent a wall of water cascading down over the treehouse.

We celebrated Ezra's birthday in the hotel room between swims.

Jonas and Dad in the lazy river.

The screaming you hear before you see Judith, is Judith screaming at the beginning of the slide at the top.  :)

This was not Ezra's best run.  The force of the water made it difficult for my low-muscle-toned boy to hang on to his board.  While this video shows the trouble he had, we were proud that he was discouraged and had more and much improved runs!

Fun was had by all and we will definitely be returning!
